FROZEN SEMEN SHIPMENTS: For frozen semen shipments, we do ask for 3 days notice for the shipment. We understand that this is sometimes not possible. In cases where less than 3 days notice is given, there will be stat fees imposed, and they can vary depending on how much notice is given.
The stud dog owner’s account must be paid in full before semen can be released.
We MUST have a completed semen release form on file, completed and signed by the stud dog owner. We will not ship any semen without this on file. This is a liability issue for us, and is required by the registries that endorse us. Do not ask us to waive this policy. The semen release form is available on our website, or we can send one to you. If you need one sent to you that you can complete on your cell phone, please let us know. We have docu-sign for those situations.
COMMUNICATION FOR EXPORTS AND IMPORTS: We are a very busy export office and receive a tremendous number of inquiries and requests, etc for our export and import services. We pride ourselves on our customer service and want to ensure all clients are getting the time they need and having all of their questions answered. We do ask that export/import correspondence be done via email. We have found that when put in writing, most things are better understood and mistakes are not made. We will return your emails promptly and will answer your questions to the best of our ability. We will keep you updated as to when blood work needs to be done and will advise immediately if there is any issues or snags along the way. SHIPPING ON FED EX OR UPS ACCOUNTS: We send all shipments via Federal Express. All shipments are billed to our account, and we then bill the client. This ensures the client’s credit card is not out on airbills that are floating around in the Fed Ex system. This protects your information.
We do not ship using any accounts other than ours. In some cases, it was necessary to file a claim with Fed Ex for untimely shipments. We cannot assist in the claims process if our account was not used for the shipping. We will only ship using our Fed Ex account.
SHIPPING SEMEN TO SIRIUS CANINE FERTILITY ON WEEKENDS: Please ask us for our information sheet prior to shipping samples to us. The sheet has our correct shipping address as well as full instructions on how to handle weekend shipments. In most cases, we will have you send the shipment Fed Ex HOLD FOR PICKUP at the Grass Valley office. We are not open on the weekends, so we cannot accept deliveries of any shipments. DO NOT SHIP UPS TO US ON WEEKENDS!
Please have the stud owner or collecting veterinarian send us the tracking number for the shipment ahead of time. If needed, we can provide an airbill for the collecting veterinarian to simplify the process. This airbill would charge our account for shipping, and then we would invoice the client on this end.
SEMEN RELEASE POLICY: Our semen release policy is if needing 1-4 breeding units, we guarantee to have it ready within 3 days. If you are needing bulk semen transfer, ( more than 4 breeding units), or records transfer, we reserve the right to take up to 30 days to complete this procedure. In most cases, we can accomplish this within a few days, however, this is not guaranteed or promised. Please plan accordingly.
If you are requesting record transfer for bitch information ( progesterone testing and TCI procedures), we will have them ready within 30 days from receipt of request. In many cases, we can arrange to have them ready sooner, but we can not promise or guarantee this. Please plan accordingly.
INTERNATIONAL PAYMENTS: We accept several different ways to pay your bill. We can send an invoice with a link to do either a bank transfer or credit card payment. There is also a paypal option as well. For international payments using credit cards or paypall, the convenience fee is 3% of the total invoice. For Bank Transfers, the convenience fee is a flat 18.00. The bank transfer option must be done via your invoice and the easy, convenient online bank transfer option to take advantage of the flat rate.
Dog registries all have different requirements for DNA testing of a dog utilizing fresh chilled or frozen semen. Please check with your registry as to what their requirements are for testing, and obtain a DNA kit from them. The registry will have a fee to run the test, and those will vary from registry to registry. Once you have received your DNA profile number back, please forward to us to include in your file
Annual storage fees are charged once a year, on the anniversary of when the dog was collected and frozen. These are billed per dog and include as much as is stored on each dog. There is no cap on how much semen can be stored for that one rate, but it is per dog.
From the time of invoicing for annual storage, there is a 30 day grace period to transfer or use any semen to avoid the storage fee. If the semen remains after the 30 day period, the full rate will be charged. There is no prorating of semen storage for any unused time during the one year period.
